We have a contract vacancy for a Head Herdsperson to be part of a family dairy farm, just North of Carmarthen in West Wales. 

The farm runs to 400 acres with 300 black and white summer-autumn calving cows yielding 9,500 litres on 2 x milking through a new 32 x 32 Dairymaster with ADF.   A TMR consisting of grass silage and wholecrop is fed, with top up cake in the parlour.  Sawdust and mattress cubicle yards are utilised, and good attention to detail is required to help maintain this already well-managed herd, that takes advantage of Genus RMS and an outside foot trimming contractor. 

The appointed person will be expected to oversee the milking, be involved in calvings and take a lead role managing the herd.

A 3-bedroom detached bungalow, on farm, is on offer along with a competitive salary.
