Pig Stockperson

We are recruiting for an Indoor Pig Stockperson to join a pig farm in West Yorkshire (BD12).

 A position has become available to join a family-run farm that buys 7kg weaner pigs to finish.

The successful applicant will be able to join a well-established team, can be any level of experience but must have the right attitude and enthusiasm to learn.

The Unit is indoors with fully slatted pens. Pigs are fed on a wet fed system and partly dry.

Job Description:

• Care, welfare and handling of pigs - 7kg & finishers
• Mix feed in the mill using a telehandler
• Mix some feed with a feeder wagon and tractor
• Some pressure washing
• Basic repair work
• Be able to work alone
• Work weekends

Salary Guide:

• £9.75 p/h (for 40hrs) DOE
• Saturday - £12.50 p/h
• Sunday - £125

Hours:

• Mon - Fri - 8am - 5pm
• Saturday - 8am - 5pm
• Sunday - 6am - 4pm

Candidates will be required to work six days a week. Saturday and Sunday are rotated with the 3rd weekend off.

Accommodation is not offered, so candidates need to commute to BD12.
