SENIOR FARM MANAGER
For a 2500Ha farming estate in east Lincolnshire. The land is predominantly arable, growing a range of combinable crops and sugar beet, across a range of soil types including heavy clays. There are cattle, pig and sheep enterprises. A SFI pilot agreement is in place. The estate also includes commercial and residential property, a green burial site and a crematorium, all managed in hand.
You will work closely with the directors on the long-term strategic development of the business, and you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the farm.
The ideal candidate will have:
- strong practical, financial and people management skills, able to work at a strategic level but also to be adaptable, a skilled problem solver, and confident when working under pressure.
- significant arable management experience is essential, probably BASIS and FACTs qualified and educated to degree level.
- a strong track record of Health and Safety management, compliance and certification, including Red Tractor and agri-environmental schemes.
- good record keeping and technical skills, using Gatekeeper (or similar) and a range of precision farming software, also able to assist with setting and monitoring whole farm and enterprise/crop budgets.
- A positive, hands on, can do, progressive and open-minded approach with the drive and determination to front a substantial and evolving farming enterprise.
The salary offered will reflect the scale of the role and a profit share will be paid. Help with relocation expenses will be offered if required.
