We have a new contract vacancy for a Head Herdsperson to join a family dairy farm at Dolybont, near Aberystwyth. 

This 250-cow AYR calving herd of pedigree Holsteins is milked via a 20 x 40 parlour with ACR’s auto ID and handling facilities.

The herd is grazed during summer months, but while housed cows are in cubicles.  They are bedded with sawdust on mattresses, with auto scrapers.

The appointed person can be either an experienced herdsperson or somebody wishing to further their career assisting a forward thinking farmer achieve further progress with the herd.  Milking always consists of two people; RMS takes care of fertility, and a contract foot trimmer utilised regularly, with vet visits every 2 weeks.  If you have an interest in pedigree Holsteins and showing and would like to further develop your herd skills and the herd, then please apply.
