We have a new vacancy for an experienced herdsperson to take on the day to day running of the 150 cow flying herd of pedigree Jersey cows. The farm is situated about 10 miles south of Frome and is part of a larger farming business including an established contracting enterprise and a beef finishing unit.

The herd are milked through a 10/20 parlour with in parlour feeders and ACR’s with the cows housed in the winter on a combination of straw and sand cubicles, TMR feed and grazed in the summer producing a herd average of 6000 litres. The requirements of this role would be milking 2x/day, feeding calves, record keeping along with the grassland management. Foot trimming would be an advantage as currently outsourced.
