Progression at it's best - this is the ultimate milling operations manager position. You'll be solely responsible for this animal feed company's operations over various sites across the country and will predominantly be working in the West Midlands - the package reflects the seniority and skills required for this role.

A giant in their field and well-known industry wide, this illustrious client is seeking a highly motivated individual who has a strong ability to lead from the front in a company with a flat management structure. You will have the ability to drive milling efficiency gains and plan production and transport requirements for the future needs of the business as well as the skill to manage staff, production, transport and health and safety effectively and successfully and efficiently.

I want to speak with you if you have a minimum of 5 years previous experience in this field from a similar industry in either feed, raw materials, or flour milling - other sectors will also be considered. You may already manage a site and are looking for the next step or already managing multiple sites and looking for a fresh challenge, either way please do get in touch.

Your Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for all department managers, with review/approval responsibility for all operations employees
  • Communicate job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions.
  • Keep up to date with changes taking place in the sector and enforce policies and procedures.
  • Contribute operations information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; prepare and complete action plans; implement production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolve problems and identify trends.
  • Forecast requirements; prepare an annual budget; schedule expenditures; analyse variances; initiating corrective actions.
  • Responsible for all aspects of the transport fleet from compliance to the profit and loss account.
  • Analyse manufacturing processes and implement plans to improve working efficiency.
  • Manage relationships with key suppliers.
  • Maintain safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations.
  • Manage staff levels and hours to meet sales requirements.
