We have a new contract vacancy for a Herd Manager on an estate near Basingstoke in Hampshire. The farm covers 2,500 acres alongside a number of additional enterprises. The dairy herd is made up of 300 organic buffalos miked through an 11 aside tandem parlour.

Working alongside the Estate Manager you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the dairy unit, managing the small team of staff to ensure the milk is produced to the highest standards.  In addition to the staff management, you will ensure all records are kept up to date, liaise with the vet on all herd health matters and the occasional milking.  With the Estate wanting to drive the dairy unit forwards, this is an ideal opportunity for a dynamic and enthusiastic person to help make a difference.
