Harper Adams University is pleased to announce that it is recruiting for a Crop Trials Deputy Sector Manager to join the newly established Future Farm Team.

This is an exciting new venture, and the successful candidate will be involved in:

  • Selecting suitable sites for growing and recording field trials with a range of arable crops;
  • Working with members of the wider Future Farm team to deliver diverse work programmes;
  • Liaising with academic colleagues and industry partners and students to ensure appropriate design, development and delivery of field operations;
  • Contributing to the wider Future Farm and University strategies, including ambitious net-zero targets;
  • Personal management and performance reporting;
  • Robust record keeping and compliance with legislation and regulatory requirements.

 

The successful candidate will have:

  • Proven experience in running field trials;
  • A demonstrated ability to lead a team of diverse individuals;
  • A strong knowledge of arable production systems and experimental procedures;
  • PA1, PA2 and PA6 spraying certificates;
  • Familiarity with ARM and the Microsoft Office Suite;
  • A full UK driving licence.
