Summary

We're looking to recruit an experienced Buildings Maintenance Supervisor to organise, and manage maintenance work across our let estate. 

Alongside small and medium (up to £200,000) sized projects. Working across London and Surrey. Encompassing residential, commercial, and agricultural property that are occupied by our tenants, as well as holiday cottages. 

This is a supervisory role, the successful applicant will not be “on the tools”.

We're looking for someone who has a solid working history and practical understanding of property maintenance of listed and old buildings, and who is able to diagnose problems and find solutions. The work planning is wide and varied.

What it's like to work here

You will be part of a very busy team consisting of estate managers, rural surveyors, building surveyors, letting officers and an estate management officer and this post will report into a senior building surveyor.

You'll be based at our Polesden Lacey Office, www.nationaltrust.org.uk/polesden-lacey near Dorking with the opportunity to work flexibly, you’ll covering several rural property portfolios within Surrey.

Working together, our team are focused on managing our tenancies efficiently, effectively and flexibly, fulfilling our responsibilities as a good landlord. The work of the Estate Management team underpins our national rental income worth around £50m annually. It’s an essential part of our delivery for our land and nature conservation objectives. You’ll be significantly supporting our aim deliver a healthier, more beautiful natural environment.

As well as working as a key player within your team you’ll also work with other Buildings Maintenance Supervisors across the London & South East region and help shape our new delivery model and ways of working.

 

What you'll be doing

The role requires strong demonstrable experience in managing delegated budgets, and ensuring maintenance works and projects are delivered on budget and on time.

Demonstrable knowledge of the following

  • A task planner/scheduler
  • Experienced budgetary controller
  • Buildings Compliance
  • Rental property legislation
  • Strong IT Skills
  • Contractor management and compliance

 

This is a permanent, full time opportunity. Salary £37,000. Depending on experience and relevant qualifications.
