We have a rare and exciting opportunity for a progressive grazing enthusiast to assist in the running of an 800-cow spring calving unit near Taunton in Somerset.

The unit is on one of three contiguous farms under the same management and plans are in place to build another dairy on one of the other farms for an autumn calved herd in the near future.  

The role will centre around being able to integrate into the milking team as a team leader, and to be involved in fertility, herd health, feet, grazing management, and record keeping taking charge of at least one of these disciplines.  

The herd is made up of crossbred cows yielding around 6,500 litres from around a tonne of cake. All replacements are reared on farm.  Facilities are excellent to include a 44:88 Millfoss parlour, excellent handling facilities, cubicles with some loose housing and a well thought out infrastructure of tracks and paddocks.  

The package on offer will include a three-bedroom house on the unit, regular time off and a salary to match your skills.
