Mobile Feed Mill Operator

Due to a consistent increase in workload, we are looking to recruit an operator for one of our ‘Tropper’ mobile feed mills.

About us

We are a family business based near Leominster in North Herefordshire, we provide on-farm mobile feed milling and mixing services for farmers across an increasingly large geographicalarea, producing rations for poultry, cattle, pigs and sheep primarily. Using Scania based lorries running Tropper machinery, of which we currently have five.

About you

The ideal applicant would need to be a motivated and enthusiastic individual who is keen to become a key member of our small team moving forward. The role will predominantly require the candidate to work independently, although you will then meet customers and their staff at each farm, so good communication and the willingness to co-operate with them is required and also joining in to form an essential part of our team to be the link from us, to farm.

It is desirable that the applicant has some agricultural knowledge, some mechanical / machinery understanding, HGV licence preferred but not essential. Although, all training will be given.

About the job

This role will be based from our yard at HR6 0HW, you will be driving / operating one of our Scania lorries with a Tropper mobile feed mill mounted on the rear. Our typical day starts at 6.30am, from here we visit specific areas per day visiting anything from 2 – 12 farms depending on tonnage at each visit, and then home each evening.

Interested applicants are welcome to visit the yard to look around the machinery and meet the team, or to visit some farms with us for them to understand the role better. It is quite a manual job, including handling 4” suction hoses and 25kg bags regularly so good general fitness is required.

Benefits

Pay is negotiable but will be a minimum of £15 per hour

Standard week of 50 hours with the opportunity for extra, our average is closer to 65 hrs currently
