FARMS MANAGER - GRADE 8

We seek an experienced farm manager to take overall leadership, and day to day control, of the two farms owned by the University of Liverpool with a remit to provide a first class teaching and research facility whilst maintain high standards of animal health and welfare.

Ness Heath farm consists of 170 acres with 450 breeding ewes, 25 Gloucester old spot breeding sows and a small beef finishing unit. Wood Park Farm is an all year-round calving, high yielding, 200 cow dairy herd with 200 acres and some rented land within 5 miles. Each unit has a resident assistant manager.

You will live on Wood Park farm in a newly renovated house and be responsible for running both units under a business plan you will formulate and lead, in close liaison with the Head of the Department of Livestock and One Health.

You should have a relevant further or higher education qualification such as HND or BSc, or equivalent experience.

Both farms are sited adjacent to the Leahurst Campus on the Wirral peninsula 12 miles from the main Liverpool Campus.
