CLA, Director General

The Country Land and Business Association (CLA) is the membership organisation for owners of land, property and businesses in rural England and Wales. It champions, protects and enhances the rural economy, environment and way of life. It unlocks the potential of the rural economy by promoting innovative ideas to a national audience and providing practical support to members.

The CLA will appoint a new Director General in Spring 2024 to lead the next chapter of the organisation. At a critical time of transition for the rural sector, the CLA’s role in influencing policy and informing its members with expert analysis and information is more important than ever.

It will require influential and inspiring leadership to sustain the CLA’s influence and impact in the coming years, to navigate complex policy terrain, to continue to create value for members, and to ensure a thriving organisation well into the future.
