Our client - a respected and exciting UAE based investment company is seeking a highly skilled, highly motivated and highly experienced individual to join their senior executive team as Chief Operating Officer for livestock. The well resourced company, founded in 2019, has seen exceptional but sustainable and profitable growth in its portfolio and has multiple brands, businesses and interests across the Middle East, Africa and Asia - all within the agri food sector and across multiple disciplines of agriculture. With a core set of values and strong vision, the business aims to be at the leading edge of food production through utilising technology, having exceptional management at all levels and by being agile and adaptable to the demands of a global market.

As COO for livestock you will be the key executive responsible for overseeing the efficient and effective operation of a diverse portfolio, which includes poultry & bird farms, wild animal facilities, dog kennels, sheep, and goat farms, as well as dairy farms, each spread across multiple  regional and global locations. This role involves strategic planning, execution, and optimisation of all activities related to the livestock operations, ensuring efficiency, profitability, and adherence to industry standards.

Your core responsibilities would include, but are not limited to, the following:

Strategic Planning - identifying opportunities for development and diversification of the livestock business.

Operational Management - Overseeing the day to day operations of the livestock business, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness.

Financial Management - develop and monitor budgets for each operation, ensuring the cost effective practices without comprise to animal well being.

Livestock Health & Welfare - Oversee the development of robust preventative health strategies for the production animals.

Compliance and quality assurance - Implement and maintain quality assurance processes to meet or exceed industry standards.

Team Leadership - Lead and motivate a diverse team of professionals, including farm managers, veterinarians, and support staff.

Stakeholder Relations - Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including financial institutions, auditors, and advisers.

Risk Management - Identify and mitigate risks related to livestock operations, including disease control and market fluctuations.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of senior executive posts in within the agri livestock sector, you will hold a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Animal Science, Business Administration, or a related field and will have strong livestock sector experience and industry best practice. You will understand and have experience in managing complex, multi layered, interlinking sub divisions and brands across multiple countries and territories. You will have a true global outlook, able to thrive on both a business and personal level in differing and diverse cultures, both in the developed and the developing world and  you will identify and recognise the opportunities and the challenges that arise. A strong understanding of global markets, inspiring leadership qualities, exceptional communication and reporting skills and the ever present desire to drive efficiencies, seize opportunities and maximise returns are a must.

The role is based in Abu Dhabi and will require occasional travel throughout the region and to countries and territories where the client operates.
