Precision Ag Specialist

John Deere is a leading supplier of agricultural and turf equipment. We are recruiting a Precision Ag Specialist to join our team at Langar and cover the UK and Irish markets.

The Role:

The role of the Precision Ag Specialist is to support customers and dealers to deliver distinctive customer experience during the ownership phase of our precision ag product portfolio.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Significant support of the development and delivery of sales promotion for precision agriculture products/solutions to our dealer network.
  • Increasing dealer competence by applying the Deere sales, marketing and dealer development tools.
  • Conducting local, regional and in-house training sessions to dealers on precision agriculture, both onboard and offboard technologies.
  • Full commercial responsibility for sales and market share goals
  • Supporting dealer sales teams with planning and activities to build and maintain customer relationships and grow sales with key accounts.
  • Counsel channel partners on product and marketing matters.
  • Supporting sales training programmes and product launches.
  • Communicating market opportunities and competitive intelligence.
  • Proofreading of sales and marketing materials.

The Successful Candidate: 

Your essential skill set will include a good command of written and spoken English in both formal and informal settings as well as competence with Microsoft Office. You will possess a good work ethic and be able to manage time and resources to deliver business and people goals. Above all, you will be able to command respect, be a self-starter and drive sustainable results that will position the dealers you will work with at the forefront of dealer standards.

Required Skills, Knowledge, & Relevant Work Experience:

  • Ideally you will possess a degree in an agricultural/engineering related subject.
  • 3-5 years of experience around large agricultural and/or harvesting equipment.
  • Sound communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly motivated individual with a willingness to travel within UK/Ireland and abroad.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Robust analytical skills.
  • Sound commercial understanding.
  • Proven ability to deliver presentations and training to customers or dealers in large or small groups.

As this is a role based at Langar, the successful candidate will be expected to live in commuting distance of the branch. There must be a flexible approach to working some irregular hours and a willingness to travel within the UK/Ireland and occasional visits abroad. A clean driving licence is desirable.
