Farm Manager – Staples Vegetables
Staples Vegetables Ltd. are looking for an Arable Farm Manager to oversee the production of all cereals, maize and cover crops grown within the business.
Staples Vegetables are one of the largest vegetable growers and packers in the UK supplying all major multiples with conventional and organic vegetables.
Staples also have a significant energy business – 2 Anaerobic Digester plants, which are fed with vegetable waste from our factories and other arable energy crops.
Main Location – Sibsey , Boston , Lincolnshire
Key Responsibilities :
- You will be responsible for all cultivation, drilling, input application and all relevant crop husbandry.
- You will be responsible for coordinating the harvesting operation and transporting of crops to the relevant sites.
- You will work closely with our in-house agronomist with all operations being recorded on the farm IT system.
- Health and Safety within your farming team.
- Shaping the present and future Sustainable Farming Intensive schemes and developing the regen agriculture practices on the farm.
- Farm machinery and technology investments to drive efficiency and reduce costs.
- You will be an integral part of the business management team and will report directly to the Senior Farm Manager / Production Director.
Ideal Attributes :
- You must have good agricultural knowledge and arable experience.
- A good understanding of cereal production. Experience in maize production an advantage.
- You must have the ability to lead, manage and develop a team of staff throughout the different arable operations.
- Good communication skills, well organised.
