Pig Farm Stockperson

We are recruiting a Pig Farm Stockperson to join a pig unit in North Yorkshire (DL2). 

The unit comprises 2000 growers and finishers on one site and 1300 sows on another site, all slatted, on wet feed and dry home mill and mix. Sows are kept on straw; some are fed wet, and some are dry-fed. Sows are scraped out twice a week.
 

Job Description:

• Look after growers and finishers
• Loading the fat wagon (sometimes early!)
• Washing out of grower and finisher buildings
• Some maintenance work
• Some tractors work (training offered)
• Using wet feed systems (training provided)

Salary (doe): £12 per hour (up to 40 hrs/week), £16 per hour overtime

Plus: 

• 21 days plus bank holidays
• Usual pension contributions

Hours: 08:00 - 17:00, 1 hour for lunch, plus weekends if needed (only if other staff are off).
