We are looking for a Dairy Engineer to join our growing team ideally located in the South /South West area of Scotland. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this role is responsible for the effective and efficient installation, servicing, maintenance, and repairs of milking parlours, Holm & Laue Calf feeding equipment, Dairy Power aeration and scraper systems and other associated equipment within our extensive range of products to complement today’s farmers onsite at the customer premises.
9 days/fortnight, every second Friday off on a rotational basis, standard operational hours of 08:00-17:00 Monday – Friday, plus on call, worked on a 6-week rotation.
Key duties will include:
- Carrying out installation of new equipment and service maintenance of existing equipment
- Providing emergency call-out cover and attending breakdowns.
- Maintaining work diary liaising with both Service Control and customers to ensure any changes are managed efficiently and effectively.
- Following and promoting best practice and working to ‘Right-first time’ standards of workmanship
- Supporting Service Admin with timely submissions of work orders
- Supporting Store personnel with key stock processes
- Applying customer care skills at all times, ensuring customer expectations are met and kept regularly informed of job progress.
- Management of company van including daily driver safety checks, manufacturers servicing, and notifying Service Control of any driving licence endorsement, parking, or speeding fines
The ideal applicant
- You will be able to work on your own initiative and have sound judgment and decision-making skills.
- You will have good communication skills, both on the telephone and face-to-face
- You will be confident using a computer.
- Willing to travel.
