A brand-new role brought in to advance the company's ambition.

You might not have heard of the company before, but you'll have definitely bought their produce.
It's time to play your part in feeding the nation.

What's the Job?
The role is a mix between desk and hands on. 30%, 70%.

The admin stuff: it's not the most exciting, but it's important. You'll be processing customer orders, managing data, and ensuring optimal seed stock control.

You'll also be talking to customers and suppliers, ensuring everything is running smoothly.
Now, the hands-on side.

This is where it gets interesting. They are working hard on their own growing media recipes, doing this all-in house. You'll be playing a part in that.

They're also running trials in a newly built, state-of-the-art glasshouse. These trials will be looking at lots of variables across different fresh produce crops, working alongside academics and top-level professionals.

With the trials, you'll be doing a bit of everything from prep, to seed sowing, to husbandry, to gathering data, analysing, and presenting results.

Flexibility is key! They're a small, tight-knit team, so you might find yourself helping in other areas when things get busy. Teamwork makes the dream work, right?

The overall site is 8 acres of glass, you'll get a huge amount of exposure across the whole business.

Starting out, you'll be doing a bit more admin (about 30% of the role), but the plan is to gradually shift things so you can get your hands dirty full-time.

What do I need?
You'll have some form of horticulture or agriculture qualification. Ideally, you'll have your spray certificates and a forklift licence, but don't worry if not, they're happy to train you.

Experience working in a commercial nursery is key - you'll already understand the pressures in peak season and the nature of the role.

It's ok if you haven't worked with salad crops before, as long as you're proactive and enthusiastic, they're happy to teach the rest.

What's Next?
For an informal chat, please call me, Sarah on 01780 480530 or email sarah@morepeople.co.uk or message me on LinkedIn. Don't worry if your CV isn't up to date, just send what you have already, and we can sort the rest later.
