We have a contract vacancy for an experienced herd-manager on a family farm in North Somerset.

The farm has 450 pedigree Holstein cows on 3 x milking, yielding 12,500 litres in state-of-the-art facilities comprising a herringbone parlour with excellent handling facilities.

Cows are housed year round in sand cubicles and fed a full TMR with tractor scraping. 
All young stock are retained for replacements and there is a full complement of experienced staff.

The appointed person will be expected to head up the team, manage and participate in all milking’s while being fully responsible for Health visits, calving’s, drying off and oversee contractors who do the foot trimming and AI’s. This herd is managed to a very high standard and needs to continue along this avenue.
