Herd Manager

We require an experienced Herd Manager or Herdsperson looking to take the next step in their career. Our client is seeking an individual that can take on responsibility of this superb herd of 1800 cows. The farm has seen significant investment in the last 10 years which has created a first class unit with 60 point rotary parlour and first class housing for the high yielding herd. The herd are milked 3 times a day achieving circa 12,000 litres from a full TMR diet, AI is carried out mainly in house, with foot trimming being done by an external contractor.

Whilst being a large scale business this remains a family farm with a driven team who continue to push the farm forwards. You will work closely with the farmer who will oversee the unit and manage the cropping, machinery and field operations. You will be responsible for the day to day management of the cows, overseeing the milking team and routine, herd health and fertility including AI, meeting with vets and record keeping.

In return you will be offered a first class salary, bonus scheme and farm house on a seoperate youngstock unit a couple of miles away from the farm,
