Hawkins Farming Ltd is a multi-enterprise business based near Ledbury, farming Hops, Cider apples, Arable and Pedigree Herefords. We have the following position available due to an overseas relocation.

We are looking for a forward-thinking, enthusiast stock person with  attention for detail,  to take on the day-to-day operation of our herd of Pedigree Bosbury Herefords.

The herd has a long line of heritage pedigree currently at 40 cows plus followers. We have a high health status, selling quality cattle to pedigree and commercial breeders. Experience with showing and sales would be advantageous.

There is the opportunity to develop a sheep enterprise on the farm. This exciting role is a great opportunity for the right person. Accommodation can be provided. 

Role

• Reporting to the Farm Manager
• Ensuring the high health status and welfare
• Calving cows
• Record keeping and pedigree paperwork
• Liaising with vets, nutritionists, potential buyers
• Compliance with Health and Safety
• General Stock work
• Managing mixed types of grasslands and Countryside Stewardship grazing options.
• Organisation of silage, haylage and hay making
• Help with other enterprises and estate work during busy times
