Seeking a new opportunity in farm business consultancy? This could be your next role!

About the client

Our client is a long-standing company in Northeast England, with multiple offices across the region and an existing client base with potential for this to grow. This role has arisen due to consistent growth and is in need of a senior farm business consultant to join their team.

The role

As a senior consultant, you will have autonomy and ownership over your clients. You'll deliver a wide range of consultancy to multiple farmers throughout Northumberland as well as to the land agency division as needed. In this senior position, you will lead, mentor, and develop a growing team and report to the Director of the Farm Business department.

You will conduct Farm Business appraisals, Basic Payment Scheme and grant applications and manage these agreements.

Your responsibilities will include compiling reports and budgets to support and manage tenders for Farm Business Tenancies (FBTs), Contract Farming Agreements (CFAs), and Share Farming Agreements (SFAs).

This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients whilst contributing to the success of a respected business in the agricultural sector.

About you:

This is a client-facing role where fostering lasting relationships is key, so strong interpersonal skills are essential. It calls for a self-driven, ambitious individual capable of working independently and leading the team.

A combination of practical and farm business experience is critical to this role. Knowledge of DEFRA's subsidies and understanding of the Agricultural Transition Period is fundamental to this role.

Whilst FACTS and BASIS is desirable but not essential, a qualification through a university/college course is required. Additionally, at least three years' experience in the arable and/or livestock sectors is desirable.
