Title: Area Sales Manager
Location: Remote - travel to customers across East England
Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 + £6,000 Car Allowance
Contract Type: 12 Month FTC


This is a rare opportunity to onboard with a business that aims to transform the Agriculture and Horticulture industry as we know it!

This position affords the freedom of not being tied down to an office, rather spending your time on the road and getting around farms & nurseries across the country and engaging in-person to drive sales.

This position will play a critical role in driving business growth - responsible for B2B sales, member acquisition and converting SME leads.

You'll develop a network of contacts, attract new clients, research new market opportunities and contribute to sales projections and forecasting revenue. You'll be someone who is as equally driven by providing a good service as you are in driving sales. You'll be determined, with a proven sales performance track record and the ability to deliver results. Self-motivation is key and a desire to succeed is essential.

Role and Responsibilities

  • In collaboration with the CEO and Head of Membership, contribute to the creation of a sales strategy to successfully reach new business opportunities
  • Identify prospective clients in the agricultural and horticultural industries
  • Develop and present compelling sales proposals, effectively communicating the value of our membership
  • Meet with and build relationships with prospective clients, gauging their needs and developing proposals to address them
  • Deliver sales presentations to persuade customers to sign up to our clients membership
  • Possess a strong understanding of our proposition, the competition in the industry and our positioning
  • Attend conferences, events, regional discussion or industry groups to build relationships with potential clients and to stay up to date with new trends

Essential skills and experience:

  • Agricultural credentials are vital preferably with a first-hand understanding of the farming and growing environments
  • Confident with strong interpersonal skills to build and foster client relationships.
  • Customer service oriented to cultivate strong and lasting relationships.
  • Innate sales persuasion ability to negotiate contracts pricing and terms to maximise revenue.
  • Ambitious and results motivated with demonstrable proficiency in sales techniques, negotiation, and closing deals.
