We have a new contract vacancy for an experienced assistant herdsperson to take day to day control of 350 Organic autumn block calving Friesians as one of 4 x dairies on a family owned and managed 2,500-acre estate in North Dorset.
The herd is milked via a very modern Fullwood 24 x 48 herringbone parlour with in parlour feeders. Whilst housed cows have access to sand cubicles with tractor scraped, passages, and are fed a TMR consisting of whole-crop and grass silages.
The appointed person will be assistant to head herdsperson will be expected to take an interest in the day to day herd management to include extensive March to November grazing, so able to use quad bike and do electric fencing etc.
