McLaren Farms are looking for a new Brassicas Manager to join their established team.
McLaren Farms is a partnership and is run by three brothers, John, Mike, and Peter. Our Family-owned farm operates out of two main locations in Perthshire, Fintalich outside of Muthill, and Cronan which is outside of Coupar Angus.
Our family has been farming for four generations, we started in agriculture as tenant farmers. Since then, we have evolved the business into a diverse farming business which specialises in the growing and packing organic and non-organic fresh produce such as potatoes and brassicas.
We also grow cereals and have livestock which now completes our sustainable rotations on our increased land bank of owned, contact farmed and tenanted farms.
The Brassicas Manager is responsible for day-to-day operational control and tactical management of the production of circa 260 hectares of brassicas.
Working alongside the Directors, this is a hands-on role contributing to and supporting on a variety of processes; from strategic planning to despatch and all disciplines in between. Whilst also ensuring that both costs and crops are managed in a profitable and economical manner.
The successful candidate will have a background in operational management and a working knowledge of agriculture.
