Auch Estate seeks to appoint a new Farm Manager located in the Southern Highlands.
The Estate covers some 29,000 acres and is in organic transition following significant investment with the construction of a range of new farm buildings, upgraded hill fanks and new housing forstaff. The business currently farms approximately 5000 Blackface ewes along with 80 suckler cows.
The role involves the management of an extensive upland hill farm, with a key element overseeing and developing the existing farming enterprise, while integrating agri tourism, suitably located woodland creation projects and the development of natural capital opportunities.
Candidates should demonstrate a highly skilled technical knowledge of working with sheep and cattle, while also be willing to develop new livestock production systems.The estate wishes to implement high level technical monitoring of the operation and the candidate should be able to undertake analysis and review plans on an ongoing basis.
Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK and hold a full UK driving licence. Having working dogs is of benefit but not essential.
