Eco2 Management Services Ltd (EMSL) is looking for an experienced Fuel Manager to join our team! Based at the Sleaford Renewable Energy Plant, this key role is responsible for securing a reliable, cost-effective supply of straw and other agricultural materials to support plant performance. 

This role has become available due to an internal promotion.

- A competitive salary and benefits package is on offer. Role and Responsibilities:

As Fuel Manager, you will be responsible for sourcing, procuring, and managing the fuel supply for the Sleaford plant, ensuring a seamless, year-round fuel supply that meets both quality and cost requirements. This role involves active engagement with suppliers, planning and managing delivery schedules, and monitoring compliance with contract terms.

• Source and negotiate with fuel suppliers to secure advantageous terms and ensure consistent fuel quality and availability.

• Build and maintain long-term relationships with suppliers and the plant’s operations team.

• Manage the Annual Fuel Plan in collaboration with the Senior Fuel Manager, ensuring alignment with client needs and stock requirements.

• Maintain and update the Fuel Tracker system for accurate records and compliance.

• Regularly visit supplier sites to monitor stock levels and quality.

• Support the Senior Fuel Manager with reports and additional ad hoc requirements as needed.

 

 

Who You Are:

We are keen to offer this role to someone with some experience in agriculture who is committed to providing top-notch service and can operate both independently and within a collaborative team.

You will:

• Ideally have experience of working within an agricultural environment.

• Have prior experience in procurement or supply chain management, ideally within renewable energy or a related field.

• Be skilled in negotiating and building productive, long-term supplier relationships.

• Be familiar with inventory management systems or similar.

• Possess excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, able to adapt to changing requirements.

• Be a confident user of Microsoft Office, including Excel, as well as Teams and SharePoint.

• Demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to work with cross-functional teams.

• Have some experience or appreciation of working in a safety-first environment.

• Show flexibility for travel to various supplier and storage locations.
