We are recruiting for a Pig Stockperson for a family-run farm in Aberdeenshire, AB41.

Our client's farming enterprise includes pigs and arable, primarily focusing on pigs and potatoes.

The pig stockperson will work on their 300-sow indoor breeding-to-finish unit.

Candidates should have:

  • Good pig husbandry skills
  • Good attention to detail
  • High welfare standards
  • Team-player abilities
  • Passion for pig husbandry
  • Experience mixing feed using a static feed mill would be an advantage
  • Good knowledge of liquid and dry feeders would be an advantage

 

The high-health farm has dry sows housed in straw courts, fed through Schauer ESF feeders. They farrow in new and modern, fully slatted buildings and are fed via the Schauer Mamados system.

The job involves husbandry of the weaners, rearers, finishers and accommodation washing.

Salary guide: £25,000 - £30,000 DOE
