Job Details

 

We have new job opportunities within Norfolk and Suffolk to work on outdoor pig breeding units for motivated, reliable individuals who can work well as team players.

The pig units are well run by forward-thinking, modern companies accredited by Red Tractor and place animal welfare at the heart of their businesses.

These are outdoor herds, so you must be willing to work outdoors in all weather. Protective clothing will be provided.

Your duties will include:

  • Feeding sows
  • Strawing up huts
  • Moving sows
  • Weaning piglets
  • Fallen stock removal
  • Artificial insemination
  • Identification of illness
  • Administering vaccinations and medicine
  • Practicing good biosecurity
  • Accurate record keeping

 

Person specifications:

  • Reliable stock people and good, flexible team players
  • Conscientious and caring about the animals
  • You will need a driving licence and a car
  • Experienced with pig farming and can hit the ground running

 

Possibilities to progress to management level may be available to the right candidate.

Salary starts at £26,500 - £35,000 DOE Plus: 

  • Holidays 
  • A workplace pension
  • Protective clothing
